What Does a Professional Pet Sitter Do?

A professional Pet Sitter provides loving care for your pets in your home. We start by getting some information from you over the phone,
including the area in which you're located, the kinds of pets you have, the dates you'll need service, and what types of visits you're looking
for. We'll also answer any questions you may have. We will schedule a free Meet and Greet consultation with you (which lasts about 30 to 90
minutes), so you can meet us and we can meet your pets. You'll fill out the necessary paperwork including veterinary info, emergency
contacts, and everything we'll need to know to take care of your pets while you're away, and you can show the pet sitter the routine you'd
like them to follow. The pet sitter will also obtain and test keys that will allow access to your home while you're away.

Not all pet sitters are the same! When looking for a pet sitter who will have access to your home, it is important to ask these questions!

Are they INSURED for my protection? If not - you are putting your home and valuables at risk! Your Best Friend Pet Sitting is insured,
and we have optional coverage that is better than bonding to make sure you are protected.
Are they a member of the professional pet sitting organizations NAPPS or PUPS? If not, how can they educate themselves on the
basics (and more advanced aspects!) of professional pet sitting? How will they stay informed of current information and trends that
they can pass along to you? What kind of code of ethics do they adhere to?
Do they have multiple references? If not, how do you have any assurance of the quality of pet care they can provide?
How long have they been in business? Do they have a professional reputation at stake?
What are their qualifications? (If their primary qualifications are "I love animals and have owned a few", then they are as qualified as
any 8-year old, and I wouldn't entrust the keys to my home and the lives of my pets to someone without experience managing keys,
keeping an eye on my home's security, and extensive experience caring for the pets of others - not just their own.)

When you're gone, the pet sitter will do a home security check, enter your house, access only the areas you've designated in the Meet and
Greet consultation, take great care of your pets according to the instructions you provided at the Meet and Greet, leave a visit log to let you
know how your pet did, and lock your home securely.

What Are the Advantages of Hiring a Professional Pet Sitter?
When you hire a professional pet sitter, you can rest easy knowing that your pets are in loving hands. By caring for your pets in their home
environment, you eliminate the stress and anxiety that some pets can experience in unfamiliar surroundings.

Some pets (like fish, birds, or some exotics) can't be boarded, so pet sitting is the perfect choice to care for them while you're away.

Additionally:

Having a regular presence at your home while your away provides extra security for you.
We can give your home that "lived-in" look so that burglars know someone is there!
We can water your plants, take in your mail, poop-scoop your lawn, make sure you turned the oven off, and more! These services are
usually FREE (custom services can be discussed at your initial consultation).
We know that accidents happen and things come up. That is why we have backup plans in case of emergency.

What Kinds of Pets Do You Pet Sit?
Lots! Dogs, cats, ferrets, chinchillas, rodents, birds, lizards, snakes, arachnids, fish, and more! If you don't see your pet on the list, call to find out if we can care for it.

What Areas Do You Serve?
We serve Hamlin and surrounding areas including Mount Cobb, Newfoundland, Gouldsboro, Lake Ariel, parts of Greentown, and parts of
Moscow and Elmhurst.  We do NOT serve Scranton, Greeley, Honesdale, Hawley, Tafton, Milford, Olyphant, Dunmore, Throop, or Clarks
Summit.
Call to find out if we are able to serve your area!

Will A Pet Sitter Respect My Privacy?
Absolutely - our business depends on it! We go only into the areas of your home that you designate, and only to care for your pets. We act
as we would want someone to act in our own home. Our business would never last if we did not act honestly and ethically at all times. Check
my references - my clients are repeat customers and can tell you first-hand.
