I was born and raised in Elmhurst, PA. After college (hello to Bloomsburg University alums!) I moved to the suburbs of Chicago,
where I spent six years serving as the Executive Director of the Illinois Chapter of Community Associations Institute (which
sounds a lot more confusing than it really is - it's an organization to help HOAs, community associations, and the like.) When city
life and homesickness got the best of me, my husband and I made the decision to come home to the most beautiful place in the
country, the Poconos - and we are so glad we did!
Insured, professional pet sitters are a way of life in Chicago, so as soon as we moved to Hamlin we searched for a new sitter
for our pets. We were dismayed to find there were no professional pet sitters serving our location. Seeing a need for a
professional pet sitter, and being more than a little burned out on the high-stress, nine-to-five world, I decided to launch my own
business, and Your Best Friend Pet Sitting was born!
Over the past four years, I have been able to serve my customers and community with the very best in pet sitting. It has been my
pleasure to delight pets and their owners with my service, attention to detail, and intuitive, loving care for their four-footed family
members.
I believe strongly in sharing knowledge, and giving back to those who have helped me. I currently serve on the Board of
Directors (and various committees) of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, the largest non-profit pet sitting
organization in the world. I also participate in Professional United Pet Sitters, sharing my experience with (and learning from)
pet sitters across the country. I am also an active member of the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Locally I organize the annual Presents 4 Pets campaign, where I collect donations for area animal shelters and rescue groups.
When I'm not pet sitting, or goofing around with my own pets, I love to spend time in nature. I am a big, big fan of the Poconos,
and Northeast PA. Spend a sunny June day at one of the many lakes in the area, and you'll know what I mean. Unsurpassed
beauty, fresh air, wildlife...my husband starts to roll his eyes when I talk this way, but I am inspired by the beauty around us, I
can't help myself! I play guitar (badly), I enjoy blogging, and I also enjoy a little down time with a silly Facebook game, or getting
schooled on Mario Kart Wii by my niece and nephew.
